Legendary Birds Begin The Year

Dance Alive National Ballet brings beauty into the new year with one of ballet's pinnacle pieces headlining the performance: Stravinsky's perennial fantasy favorite Firebird! Set to the glorious music of Igor Stravinsky, Firebird is based on Russian fairytales about a mythical bird that can be both a blessing and a curse to its owner, who rescues a princess from an evil sorcerer.

Completing this delightful new year program is Tales Ribeiro's choreography to Tristan and Isolde, long considered the ultimate tale of passionate, romantic love in forbidden circumstances, and another fiery bird spectacle in Phoenix Rising by Judy Skinners.
